Dinner at Hakone Ginyu: Course 1, 2, and 3

So I said this dinner was the best meal I've ever had. I'll have to clarify that statement because a meal can best in so many ways. This meal was best in presentation, atmosphere and unique application of ingredients. My only note, was that some of the courses could have been a little hotter. But, we were warned that 7pm was a busy hour.

The Menu
Click on it and you should be able to see details. I'm not going to retype each line item because its too time consuming.

You know you're in for a treat when you need to lift a veil to eat your food. The first three courses came on one plate. Each round of food was served in our room on our 'dining' table.

In the glass, was our aperitif: Local Mandarin Wine

Appetizer

Hors d'oeuvers

The Prawn With Mayonnaise was the only real miss of the night. The texture of the prawn was really mushy. But, it did come in it's own radish table/holder.

Firefly Squid!

The theme of the night was "Sakura" or Cherry Blossoms. As you can see, the blossoms are just starting to emerge.

Stay tuned for the next round!
